IGNORANCE.

…but it doesn’t mean it can’t kill you.

I always believe that ignorance is the most dangerous thing in the world. That is until I woke up one night and suddenly thought that there is one thing more dangerous than ignorance: ignorant people pretending they know something.

One thing I learned is that, assuming is a dangerous thing. If you do not know what to do, then don’t fake it and ask for help instead. Never pretend you know something when you don’t and never make up answers for questions you know you don’t have the answer to.

Ignorance is a dangerous thing. If you don’t know what you are doing, you may end up hurting yourself. Or worse, you may end up hurting others. Pretending that you could solve a problem when you don’t have an idea how to, may work for sometime or in some instances but it could be dangerous in the long run.

If you always fake it, you’ll never learn to find a way to know the right thing to do. It is better if you do things right the first time than making things up.

Ignorance is a disease that is often neglected. Oftentimes we think that it is alright not to know about something. Sometimes we think that the things we know now are enough and there is no need for us to seek for more. But the truth is we can only fight ignorance by continuously seeking for knowledge.

Ignorance exposes us to danger and places us at great risk. By pretending to know the answers to things we don’t have inkling to, we are placing ourselves and the people around us at great risk. It is better to admit that we do not know the answer than pretend that we have one. Again, , it is better not to give an answer than to make up one. Taking a risk is alright but before you take a risk you also have to make sure that you don’t unnecessarily include others in it.

If you contemplate on the things that are happening around you, you will realize that so many hurts could have been avoided if only people haven’t been so ignorant. If only people will take the time to observe the things around them and try to use a little bit of common sense then maybe crime would be lower and accidents could be avoided.

Being observant, using your common sense and being vigilant are only some of the things that we can use to arm ourselves against ignorance and the tragedies it brings.
